Ashley McKenzie, MA
Founder & Registered Psychotherapist
Ashley is the Founder of Colours Psychotherapy and a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa, an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brock University, and an Advanced Diploma in Behavioural Science from St. Lawrence College.
Drawing on her extensive background in behavioural science, Ashley works with adults 18+ across Ontario, helping them understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. She uses an approach that blends Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with mindfulness and self-compassion practices, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of the person in front of her.
Ashley supports clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, relationship issues, and life transitions. She has a special interest in perinatal and postpartum mental health, as well as in coaching parents through challenging child behaviours in ways that strengthen connection and resilience.
With over 12 years of experience in the field of mental health, Ashley has supported clients through some of life’s most difficult challenges—helping them navigate everything from deep emotional pain to significant life changes. She brings a genuine, non-judgmental presence to each session, creating a space where clients feel understood, respected, and safe to explore what’s holding them back. Ashley has seen time and again how psychotherapy can create meaningful, lasting change, and she is confident that with the right support, everyone has the capacity to heal, grow, and build a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
